WHAT GOT YOU STARTED IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY: I had always gone from job to job growing up and I never found anything I really felt passionate about. But when I would go home i would fiddle around with designs and put different clothes together, to the point that, everytime i went out people were wondering what i would be wearing. I am one of those people that wear every style of clothing you can think of but my love is for street wear. It was after being fired from another crappy job that i said to myself, "Why can't i do what those brands are doing?" Every great thing came from 1 idea, and that was the begining of Excelarate.

FAVOURITE COUNTRY: I have been to lots of different parts of the world and I have to say there is no place like Australia.

Excelarate Street Wear is a brand with an urban skate wear feel to it. It's a fun, no bullsh!t brand that when you wear it you represent a trendy, down to earth, funky type of person that is loved by all. Renegade will be on retail shelves soon.

YEARS DESIGN EXPERIENCE: 9
HOW DID YOU GET INTO FASHION DESIGN: I first had exposure to the fashion industry through a modeling career in Turkey. This facilitated travel to other countries where I worked with designers. The experience inspired me to go to fashion college where I developed my skills and soon was given assistant roles to fashion designers. I worked in the Turkish fashion industry as a designer for 9 years before starting my own label, Kromosome.
WHY AUSTRALIA: My husband is Australian
FAVOURITE PLACE: Although I love the diversity of living in Melbourne, work takes me to Istanbul regularly. I also love visiting Florence in Italy, it's such a fashion inspiration.
LABEL PLUG: Kromosome is a menswear label with a european accent, it's high fashion street-wear for men aged between 25 and 35. Kromosome will be available through boutique retailers for the Australian autumn / winter.

Kromosome launched in Australia at the 2007 Melbourne Preview / Fashion Exposed trade fair and you can find their collection in some of the best boutique stores across Australia.
